Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

Once again I'm joining in on Farmhouse Porch conversations and you can join in too by visiting here with Patrice at everydayruralty.com  This time Patrice asked for readers to suggest questions and she has used 5 of them for this weeks chat...

Beth asks:  What's your favorite movie of all times? The one you've seen multiple times. -- Well I'd have to say that "I feel the need . . . the need for speed . . . "  And that would be Top Gun with Tom Cruise!  I watched the movie over and over when it initially was out.  I haven't actually seen it for a few years but I was mesmerized by the flying - fighter pilots - and I loved the music - and "Goose" and "Charlie" - okay - I liked Tom too!  It was one of those movies that I watched and saw something new in it every time at least for the first half a dozen times!

Clairity says: Name three things that are permanent residents in your handbag or purse.
Always present:  Must have items:  My checkbook, my hand lotion, and my gum.

Reasks: What's the best way to your heart?
Be kind to me.  Be honest with me.
Don't criticize my gifts to you. (inside joke)

Mamaw wants to know: Do you like going to yard sales?
I don't care about yard sales.  I don't like clutter.  And my momma always said - "it's not a bargain if you don't need it!"

Cathy
says: If you could slide down a rainbow, what do you think you'd find on the other side?
According to St. Paddy's day  - a pot of gold?
Taking into consideration God created rainbows for real - - maybe heaven?
According to "Reading Rainbow" - - books?
Lastly, according to the Rainbow Bridge - all my pets would be there waiting for me!

What fun to sit on the front porch and chat!

  1. Well, I learned something new about you. Didn't know you were a Top Gun fan.

I'm not a huge fan of garage sales, but love antique and "junk" stores - never know what wonderul things you'll find. I like things with history.

I'm afraid Mom's advice would apply to a lot of things I pay full price for. :)

  2. Hi! Good to see you on the porch again. I watched Top Gun several times when it was first out. The flying is exciting. The hard to get game between the woman instructor and the main character gave it a lot of interest. Your momma had a good saying about junk! Have a great week!
