What an interesting question . . . Where is your comfy spot to read? Thanks to Kelly for hosting this month's poll - check it out here.
I have two favorite places to read - one I am showing you below - in my recliner and obviously I'm not alone - my Boston Terrier Dodger is snuggled beside my legs - always looking for an excuse to curl up and sleep. I have tried to read in bed - and can't get comfortable - plus husband wants the lights out so he can sleep! If I lay down on the sofa and get all comfy - I drift off in a nap - so the chair works great for me!
But aha . . . spot #2 is my real favorite! Nothing better than to find a sunny spot on the patio - stretch out in a lawn chaise - with diet coke - shades - and read away - - - This also usually ends up with me catching a few nods also - but love it just the same!
Please let me know - where is your comfy place to read?
P.S. Places I DO NOT read ...
bathroom
airplanes
while driving!! yes I've seen it done!
I figured Dodger would get in on the act. :) I also love reading outside - but I'm easily distracted. And no reading on planes? That's one of my favorite spots - just dont get to do it very often.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually just enough "motion weary" on the plane that I avoid reading.
DeleteI buy a lot of books but seldom take the time to read them. I have to learn how to get off my computer. I am here all day!!!
ReplyDeleteI do read on vacation at a cabin in the woods which is wonderful.
I am a slow reader too Debby - I admire people who read dozens a year! The cabin in the woods sounds perfect.
DeleteWhen I was in grad school there were a few times when I'd try to read articles at stop lights on my way to school. Now I just listen to audio in the car but I do occasionally see people reading newspapers in Dallas rushhour traffic!!
ReplyDeleteCute Boston Terrier! And my favorite reading spot is my recliner, too. Thanks for playing along.
Audio books are a good thing!
DeleteI've also seen people reading while driving. One lady I passed on the interstate had a paperback propped on the steering wheel! I play it safe and usually read in bed at night. I also like to read while sitting on my back porch. My dog would love to sit in my lap but unfortunately he weighs 80 pounds:-)
ReplyDeleteThat would definitely be a lap full!
DeleteI think any spot becomes a little comfier when a dog joins you!
ReplyDeleteI agree Melissa!!
DeleteDriving? Really? That is just crazy. Have not seen that. The other two- well…
ReplyDeleteThat sunny spot looks great!
The sunny spot on your patio is lovely! We don't have comfy chairs on our patio so I don't get much reading done out there. But I do enjoy reading outside when I can recline in a hammock! (I like to visit my friends homes for this. :) A good excuse to visit them, and I get an awesome place to read. Win win!)
ReplyDeleteI just read out on our deck, today. The weather was perfect! I don't sit in the sun, though. My dermatologist has forbidden me to tan because I'm fair and freckled. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteReading and driving? Scary! I followed a fellow who was weaving around on the highway, a few weeks ago. When I passed, I had to glance over to see what he was doing. He was reading something on his phone. Near as I could tell, he'd been doing it for quite a while. It took me a while to pass him.
